Volkswagen Slovakia, a.s. is the largest automotive company in Slovakia with its plants in Bratislava, Devínská Nová Ves, Martin, and Košice. The Volkswagen Slovakia plant in Bratislava is unique on the global stage because it is the only automotive plant in the world that produces five makes (Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Škoda, SEAT) under one roof. The majority of models produced in Bratislava are not produced anywhere else. They are exported from Bratislava to 148 countries.
Volkswagen Slovakia is also the largest company in terms of turnover in Slovakia. In 2011, its sales reached EUR 5.2 billion and accounted for approximately 9.2% of Slovakia's exports. The company thus became the largest Slovak exporter. It has invested over EUR 2.1 billion in its operations and currently employs more than 8,400 people.
